Again this week, another group of lawmakers sent a letter to Interior Secretary Jewell, requesting the leadership of the agency fully suspend implementation of the NTL regarding financial assurance regulations.

The letter, signed by over 30 U.S. House members from throughout the Gulf region and beyond, remarked accurately how, if implemented, “the NTL poses a serious threat to the sustainability and viability” of producers in the Gulf.

The Gulf Energy Alliance commends these lawmakers who have stepped forward to halt these regulations, protecting jobs and economic investment in this critical sector of the energy landscape.
